Pop Chinese:生活不是等着暴风雨过去,而是学会在风雨中跳舞。

shēnghuó bú shì děngzhe bàofēngyǔ guòqù, érshì xuéhuì zài fēngyǔ zhōng tiàowǔ. 

生活 不 是 等着 暴风雨 过去, 而是 学会 在 风雨 中 跳舞。

Life is not to wait until the storm goes away, but to learn how to dance in the rain.




This sentence is taken from Wendi Deng Murdoch. The meaning of “bào fēng yǔ”(暴风雨) is rainstorm. Here, the storm is a metaphor for difficulties, setbacks and challenges in the life. The meaning of “zài fēng yǔ zhōng tiào wǔ(在风雨中跳舞)” is dancing in the rain. Mean that we have to face difficulties and challenges and to enjoy life. Life is not easy. We always encounter large or small frustrations. This sentence tells us life isn't about waiting for the change, it’s about learning to challenge and enjoy.
