B:您好,一共消费800元,现金还是刷卡?

A: Hi waiter, check, please.
B: well, the bill shall be 800 Yuan, will you pay in cash or by card?




The word “Mǎi dān(买单)” , originating from Cantonese of ”Mái dān(埋单)” which is pronounced quite same, refers to pay for the bill. This word appears and gradually becomes popular with common groups in the 1990s.
